It always begins with a bus ride.Where the fight for a seat is a serious business. Where middle aged women lock eyes over a distance of three feet, vying for a seat from which they know the passenger is going to get off at the next stop. The fight for fermented Frooti. You’d think these animals would not be fooled by the image of an all too ideal mango on the tetra pack. But No. The crow and the squirrel eye each other over the Frooti, and quarrel over the last few drops. Survival of the fittest can be seen amongst animals even in cities. Who knew?

Stray dogs at Lal bagh. The best thing to do on a shady afternoon is to take a well deserved (or not) nap.
Jungle crows. Cheeky enough to practically perch or your shoulders and stare at you with their beady eyes. These birds are definitely NOT camera shy.
Every morning, as I walk to college, I see these stray dogs basking in the sun amongst fallen leaves. And every time, i walk past them with no more than a quick glance. But this particular morning, I stood there and watched them as they lounged happily at the foot of this African Tulip Tree
