The Calabash tree.
The largest and oldest banyan tree widest tree in the world in terms of the area of the canopy it covers. It is estimated to be about 200 to 250 years old and occupies an area of about 14,500 square meters (1.5 hectares).

The Strangler Fig. The seeds from the fruit of a banyan tree are dropped at the base of another tree. Here the seed begins life as an epiphyte, and clings onto the parent tree. Over time, the fig strangles the original tree and wraps itself around the trunk.
